BACKGROUND:

DASI Sim had contracted with an agency to develop their website. The agency had done the bare minimum for this fledging medtech startup, and the team felt as though they had been taken advantage of. The frustration was palpable.

I had worked with the CEO in a past life. He remembered me and reached out asking for help. When I met with the DASI team, the intention was that I would act as a consultant as they exited their existing contract. However, as we moved forward in discussions, it was clear that the site needed to be rebuilt and right away.

SOLUTION:

After cleaning up what had been done previously and migrating the website off of the current platform, we worked to develop the site exactly as it was. We maintained the content that had been developed previously and focused more on new functionality. The previous iteration of the site had also been hacked, so I spent a great deal of time working with Google to have URLs that had been indexed removed from search engine results.

While I, admittedly, worry about the page load speed due to embedded videos of large size, the team felt strongly about not having these videos hosted on a third-party platform. Additionally, they wanted to have a home page pop-up to feature “hot news”. We had several iterations of the home page pop-up for reaction, but this was the one the team aligned with most.

Most recently, I have been working with the team to address some of their branding issues. They hired someone to create a logo, but that individual left without providing the raw files of the logos, fonts, colors, etc. So, we rebuilt their logo files, and I worked with them to develop a “light” version of a brand standard.
